Ickies

I've been very sick the last few days. It really started to hit on Wednesday of last week (3/23), and by Friday I was miserable. God allowed me to sing during our Good Friday service at church, and then Saturday I was a mess.

I forced myself out of bed Sunday morning b/c my friend & former coworker Danielle had said she was coming to church with me for Easter. I went, but I couldn't sing. I had too much junk in my head!

I'm really bad about not drinking when I don't have cold water, so this whole weekend I've probably been dehydrating myself. Nothing compared to Terri Schiavo, of course, but definitely not conducive to recovery.

Today I'm feeling dramatically better. I don't sound totally like myself yet, but I do feel more like myself...and that's half the battle! Here's hoping I've finally kicked the sickness.

The dream is over...

WVU lost against Louisville. On the bright side, they made it all the way to the Elite Eight of this year's tournament. In the beginning, all I was hoping for was that they wouldn't be embarrassed/humiliated by another team. I'm so thrilled that didn't happen! But it didn't make it any easier to swallow their loss.

Here's hoping their performance will help make recruiting good players easier!!

Wow!

WVU beat Wake Forest in the NCAA Tournament!!! I can't believe it! This is one time I'm glad my bracket is wrong. Woo-hoo!

Fighting a cold

Ugh. I feel so weird! My nose is a little stuffy, I have a bit of drainage, my throat is a bit sore, and my head feels heavy-ish. Occasionally, I have a headache, too. I think I should be sleeping!

Vacation planning

The flight to California is booked. The rental car is reserved. Now we need to make our reservations for lodging on our trip to Portland and reserve our seats on the flight back home. Things are coming together!

AUGH!

I'm in a horrible mood today! I can't do anything right. I'm irritated by the little boy who's staying with us this weekend. I'm irritated by Dan. I was irritated by the fact my stylist didn't use enough hairspray on me (since when is that ever a problem??). I'm sick of trying to make reservations on my own for our trip west. I'm bugged beyond belief that the $99 fare on Southwest expired, so we have to pay nearly $200 apiece. Grrrr.

Waiting and...

...somehow, I feel more optimistic about the cycle I started today than I have in the past. I don't remember ever feeling this optimistic. Of course, now I have to work my tail off to get it under control so I'm not as incredibly disappointed as I was at the end of TTC cycle #2. It's always hard to find a balance!

Picked out the camera

So we chose the camera we want: the Canon PowerShot G6 (the CNET review is here). Now we wait for money to buy it with. ;o) Click the READ MORE link to see a photo of the camera.

Waiting is hard

Waiting on everything, it seems.

Dan's gotten rejections (either directly via letter or phonecall or indirectly via cold shoulder, i.e., being ignored) from all but two firms he applied to. The two holdouts are local. It's hard to know how to pray.

We're still not pg, and today marked the start of TTC cycle #4. I'm handling it significantly better than the beginning of cycle #3, and it's not quite as disappointing.
