Vacation ideas wanted

So where should we go for vacation?

We have two times to cover here:
  1. Right after Dan's graduation in May
  2. Right after the Bar exam at the end of July
In May, we have from the 8th until the 12th. My little brother is graduating from high school on 5/13, so we have to be there for that. We don't have a lot of time.

I don't know how much time we'll have in early August, but I do know we don't want to be anywhere hot.

Ideas?

Update 2/2
We'll probably go to Charleston, SC, in May. We went there for our honeymoon, but we didn't really have much time to spend back then. We'll be able to enjoy ourselves a little more.

As far as the August vacation goes....we could fly, but I'm not totally sure we can afford it. Driving distance is probably best. I wish we could go somewhere like Sandals or something, but that will have to wait. We'll have to find out how much Dan's Bar prep loan will be. *sigh* We're going to have a lot of debt. Maybe we should just hole up in our house and not let anyone know where we are.

Exhausted

I'm really worn out this evening. Dan had a few things to do at school today (a mandatory "retreat" in the morning and class in the early afternoon). He got up well before 7:00, and he's not a quiet boy in the mornings. *sigh* I've been up since then. I worked out (the 55-minute Cardio Sculpt video), showered, did some minor cleaning (bathroom sink, bathroom mirror, vacuuming the living room), and then headed to my hair appointment. I got a new hairstyle, and I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet. After that, I headed to Regent to pick up Dan. When I got there, though, he had other things he needed to finish, so I had to hang out there for about 30 minutes. We stopped by the grocery store to get some onions and a green pepper, and we finally came home. I rested for awhile, looked online to find somewhere for us to stay in Roanoke while Dan takes the Bar exam, and made dinner. I just finished eating my first helping of dinner, and it's 9:30!

I need a vacation.

Just waiting...

The temp should shoot up tomorrow. I've had the dry-up, and I imagine the temp should shoot up tomorrow. Now we wait.

Dear Lord, please help me to have patience and confidence in You.

Grrrr ... or It figures

My job is silly. Ok, not my job. My company is silly. We have this huge project in which we're converting all our data (members, providers, and claims) from one system that is DOS- or UNIX-based to another that is Windows-based. Initially, TPTB decided we'd go live, company-wide, on 1/1/05. Yeeeeeeah. We were then going to go live in Texas only on 4/1/05. Ok. That's fine. Yesterday, we learned that the go-live date (again, only for Texas) is 6/1/05. So we're at a six-month pushback. Configuration isn't done. A training environment for training our associates isn't done.

Anyway, I'm thankful that this is my retirement year. The frustration is just too much. I can't stay somewhere that is so clearly disorganized and uncaring about realistic goals.

Finally...I think

It looks like this cycle is finally starting to do something. The EW began (though scantly) yesterday. Here's praying for God to work His miracle of life!

Proud of myself, part 2

I've been doing the Firm (as I mentioned before), but I've been doing only portions (approximately half) of the 55-minute Cardio Sculpt workout. Today, I did the whole thing!! I feel so good about myself.

Not feeling like myself

I have been a bad blogger. I just haven't felt like posting for over a week, so I haven't. I'm kind of tired, and I'm definitely over the working world. No great surprise there.

Perhaps Dan's job search is concerning me more than I thought. I don't feel worried, and I really don't think about it that much. But who knows?

I do know that I hate waiting. I'm not the world's most patient person (not by a long shot), and this cycle is bugging me. I feel like the little eggie will never pop. I've had far longer cycles than this one, and I have no real reason to be discontented...but I am. *sigh*

Victoria's Secret and the color code conspiracy

I got to talk to a VS representative the other day. It seems the color codes on my bras were correct, but the color names were wrong. Huh? The bra I ordered in "red kiss" came in the code for red kiss but the name of "kiss pink" (it looks fuschia). The one I ordered in "whisper pink" (and I have other items in this color) came with the correct code but the name "blush pink." On her advice, I decided to return the fuschia one and get a navy bra. That should be safe. I kept the pink one. It'll just have to be close enough.

Wild!

Lost-lost friends

Dan emailed one high school friend of his to get the contact info for another, and we heard back from the second friend last night. She (Bethany) went to high school with Dan, and she was in our wedding (6/2/01). We absolutely love her and her family, and I didn't realize until yesterday how much I missed them! They were in Kentucky (where Dan grew up), but John joined the military and the family moved to South Carolina. Bethany mentioned they may be moving to Virginia soon. That would rock!

She sent this photo yesterday. I can't believe how much changes in two years. The youngest (Emma) was still in utero the last time we saw them.

I hope we can see them soon!

Merry Christmas to us

Tomorrow we're going to WV to finally celebrate Christmas with my family. I can't wait to see Dan's reaction to his surprise! I'm looking forward to seeing my family...we haven't been to WV since Labor Day, I think. Wow!
