I get an appliance!

Yeah, it's not as cool as it sounds. Tongue out I went to the dentist today, and for the first time, someone took my jaw clicking seriously! The dentist is quite concerned, especially since he couldn't see a good reason for it. I haven't had any head trauma, AFAIK, and I know it's been going on as long as I can remember. I can even remember trouble with it in high school, and I graduated 10 years ago! Anyway, he took an impression (I didn't gag Bravo!) and he's making two different appliances to see which one helps me more. He said that if I don't do something about it now, I could well end up needing physical therapy in 10 years. Yikes! We don't exactly have a lot of money right now, but it makes sense to get this so I can have some relief AND avoid costly therapy.

1 - i had one of those made when i was 14 or so. it helped so much....but i grew out of it & i was told i didn't need it anymore. in a weird way i wish i still had it, even if i'm glad i'm out of braces etc, my jaw was so much better with it. good luck. (Comment this)
